Restaurants in Nerja – “Que Comemos Hoy?”
It’s a restaurant where we stop off at least once a week. “Que Comemos Hoy?” (translated as “What are we eating today?”) has local food and it’s been a great place to buy local dishes to takeaway. Besides being very good and very typical Andalucian food, it’s also inexpensive.
Their most popular dishes seem to be the Pollo Asado (grilled chicken) and Patatas Fritas (French fries). There’s usually locals lined outside the door just for that (tip: avoid 2 pm. It seems to be peak hour).
Some of our other favorite dishes include cold soups: Gazpacho (which is vegetarian) and Salmorejo (which is topped with a bit of ham). They have a great potato salad (Ensalada Rusa, ie. Russian Salad) which combines potatoes, mayonnaise and tuna. They have Bacalao (Cod) in a tomato sauce.
They also have special dishes on different days. We still haven’t gotten the hang of them so there’s a lot of dishes we haven’t tried out yet. But every Thursday they have a fried Cauliflower (Coliflor Frita) dish that is incredible.
Why go there? It’s authentic, good and inexpensive. And you can take it home to eat.

Note: Their Facebook page is updated every day and they always mention their special dishes of the day. So it’s a good idea to keep an eye on it.

We are in Nerja this week, so will give this place a try. Frank, what are your favorite Indian spots in town? Thanks!
Frank
Hi Peter! We like Mum Restaurant in the center. Otherwise Jaipur in the direction of the Parador.
